Meet Pastor Don

I want to thank you for visiting the Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church web site. It is my hope that you will get a glimpse of what the Kernersville Church is all about by checking out the various news and information that we have posted on this web site.

The community growth of Kernersville is also reflected in the church. In November of 2005 the church cut the ribbon on a new Sabbath School wing, commercial kitchen and Family Life Center. This addition was dedicated debt-free on May 19, 2007 and has provided much needed space for youth and adult Sabbath School classes, Adventurer and Pathfinder meeting space, indoor recreation, fellowship dinners, blood drives and an incredible opportunity to reach people for Jesus.

Two priorities for the Kernersville Church are its ministry to children and youth and also a strong commitment to outreach and evangelism. The Kernersville Church offers a full Sabbath School program for infants to young adults. In addition the church has a very active Little Lambs, Eager Beavers, Adventurers and Pathfinder Clubs with over 70 children and teens that meet every Wednesday evening during the school year.

Pastor Scott Young is our new associate pastor for Children’s Ministries, Youth and Family Life. A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Pastor Scott had previously worked in the financial planning and banking industry before sensing God’s call into pastoral ministry. We are happy to have him on our pastoral staff.

The Breadshoppe Café ministry continues for a second year. Breadshoppe operates one Saturday night of each month in the church fellowship hall and serves wholesome food, music and fellowship with a special emphasis on building relationships in a café-like atmosphere.

I could go on about many other exciting things that are happening at Kernersville as we attempt to reach out and minister to people in these troubling times in which we live. We invite you to visit us one Sabbath (Saturday) morning soon and consider becoming part of a community of believers that believes in Jesus’ soon return and the importance of reaching lost people for Him!
